The Sword
You have made it this far, sister. You have all of your armor, your armor is in Christ.
He has asked some of us to sow seeds. He has asked others of us to fight with the Truth. And still others, He has asked to do both–we must sow love with one hand and fight off evil with another.
Love is real, really here. He is gazing at us, sharing Himself with us. Are we willing to search for Him, find Him, and fight for Him? Are we willing to see that He resides in the hearts of you and me?

A SWORD, LOVING PEOPLE TO LIFE
How do you carry this sword?
- As a mother proclaim, “My sword is Love; with it I shall chase the stranger from the kingdom, I shall make Thee to be proclaimed King in the souls of men.” St. Therese of Lisieux
- As a sister say, “O Lord God of Hosts, who hast said in Thy Gospel: I am not come to bring peace but a sword. Arm me for the combat. I burn to do battle for Thy Glory, but I pray Thee to enliven my courage.” (St. Therese after seeing a statue of St. Joan of Arc)
- As a daughter remember that “Love is repaid by Love alone.” St. John of the Cross.
Indeed the
word of God
is living
and effective,
sharper than any two-edged
sword, penetrating even between
the soul and
the spirit,
joints and
marrow, and
able to discern
reflections and
thoughts of the
hearts. No
creature is
concealed
from Him,
but everything
is naked
and
exposed
to the
eyes
of
Him
to
whom
we must render
an account.
(Hebrews 4:12-13)
Remember, “The night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us then throw off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.” (Romans 13:12)
Suggested mentors: JESUS (He gives Himself through the Sacraments to win our entire being); MARY (She eternally intercedes for us and has given us the Rosary to aid us in this epic battle); the CHURCH (the Angels and Saints and our Community of Faith walk with us, fight with us, and will win to be welcomed into the Banquet in the Eternal City).
