Versatile and Illuminating Miracles, Articles, and Awards

Definitely a lot to talk about, to catch up on…

First, I would like to tell you about the miracles that I alluded to last week.

Miracle 1–My ex-husband came out after a two and a half year absence. Was that the miracle? No, it’s actually quite disappointing that he just passes by every once in awhile. Maybe that is better, maybe not. The miracle was in the fact that I actually could not only gaze on him but also his new wife with a profound sense of love. I felt really sorry for her. This love did not begin with me, I can tell ya, but it did start pouring through me. That is the miracle of forgiveness! Forgiving her has been harder for me than forgiving him, that is for sure.

Miracle 2–My former mother-in-law came out to visit for a couple of weeks. We had not seen her for 10 years because she has suffered from a severe depression for at least the past 16 years. I also am in no financial condition to be able to visit her. Now, this depression of hers kept her from leaving her house or from going to locations that were not familiar. But not only did she fly, which is amazing, out here, she even toured around the state, at her own request, with us. What she is allowing the Lord to do through her is AMAZING!

Miracle 3–The boys’ uncle came to visit us for the very first time while his mom was here. We had not seen him for 10 years, nor had we met his new wife. He was rather young when the divorce between me and my ex occurred, but, wow, to have reconnected with the actual presence of my boys’ aunt and uncle in this way is AMAZING!

Now after that, you may not think that those are miracles, but if you knew how far mentally and spiritually my  former mother-in-law has come from Christmas time to this month (in such a short time), I think you would be amazed too! I am so thankful that she could come out here, get to know the boys, and have coffee with me every morning. She even went to Church with us, prayed with us, and helped us around the house. She is such a sweet, gentle person. I am glad to have her in our lives. Thank you Lord!

Now to the articles:

Article 1-A fantastic post about being a Christian in the world, found and posted by Impacting Culture.

Articles 2 and 3-A blog that I have just recently found posts quotes from the Saints. Saintly Sages talks about confidence and Franciscans on virtue in these two articles.

Articles 4 and 5-This is the sad reality of how birth control works in China, posted by Catholic Glasses. This blogger also did a follow-up post on China’s apology after being caught on camera for this sad incident. The question is, did they only apologize because the internet has dispersed this atrocious knowledge so quickly?

Awards:

I would like to thank two bloggers for the awards they passed my way a couple of weeks ago. Since I have been so busy, I was unable to thank them earlier.

So, thank you for the Illuminating Blogger Award, Thinking and Driving!

And, thank you for my second Versatile Blogger award, To Have Her Heart!

I love both of these bloggers for their honesty…

Sorry to be a party-pooper, but at this time I will not be passing on the awards since I just handed out a lot with the Beautiful Blogger award. I know I didn’t reach all of you in that post, but I need to look into this further before making more nominations.

God bless you all!

About lamehousewife

poetry, articles, thoughts, and quotes... on a quest to be authentic in my motherhood, sisterhood, and daughterhood, but i can tend to become Juvenalian sometimes, maybe in writing but also in life, reading Swift's "A Modest Proposal" as if i were hearing a friend speak to me about the how ridiculous some ideas can become, especially when they begin to drift into reality, mocking all of us really... i identify with Mary Magdalene, James, and Peter and am extremely grateful for that woman who said, "Yes!"...oh and i can be pretty lame...blessings to you, dear reader...pray for a single mother, her children, and the father of her children today!

I’m so happy for your mother-in-law; I know depression all too well. It is good that you have compassion and understanding for her. Thank you for introducing me to these bloggers. I am now following both of them. The China thing…well, I can’t comment. It’s too much.

I appreciate your thoughts...
